PxCRC()

Calculate a CRC for a block of data

Synopsis:

long PxCRC( const char *buffer, int nbytes );

Description:

This function generates a cyclic redundancy check or CRC on the nbytes of data pointed to by buffer.

We recommend that bitmaps and images have a CRC on the image data and the palette. This CRC is used extensively by phrelay to cache images.

Returns:

The cyclic redundancy check.
